When I was growing up, my mom used to take me shopping after I had a doctor's appointment or some sort of unpleasant medical procedure.  It was always a little something to look forward to after what would otherwise be a downer of a day

dont forget that you can always find yourself a good tailor/alterations place. They can easily adjust the inseam for you on anything that is too long etc to fit you exactly how it needs to. Its not the in and out shopping that is so convenient but in the long run its fantastic cause its exactly the way it should be. Nordstom I believe has an in house tailor and I think Macy's may too.
