I actually got home on tuesday afternoon. I've just been to lazy to upload my pics..and I didn't wanna post without them :) The trip was fun. Until saturday. Here goes:
Thursday: We leave at 1:30 a.m. cause neither of us can sleep anyway. We get pulled over about 20 minutes into our trip...hurrah. Cop was just wondering what the hell was hanging off our car (the bikes) so everything was fine. We pulled off and took a nap at a rest stop about 4 hours into the trip after taking an accidental detour along the wrong road. Woo hoo... did I mention neither of us has a sense of direction? So we get there, drive around, then bike around the downtown, see a couple of the springs.. (we were afterall, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. ) take a long nap, and then get up for dinner, and then go back to bed. Haha. It was a good day. The town is beautiful. Friday: Get up early, eat breakfast at the hotel. The waitress LOVED david's faded red hair colour. Went to go pick up trail guides and headed out on our first trail. We actually went the beginner's route, but ended up making a wrong turn and going BACKWARDS up the most difficult trail. It was fun, however we ended up looking like someone came out and beat us with a tree branch. Saturday: Get up again, go grab breakfast, go to bike shop for more trail guides. Ask for directions..get the WRONG directions and get EXTREMELY lost looking for the road to this trail in ouachita national park. Turn around and find our way finally... only to wreck the car. >_< The rest of the day was spent waiting on insurance to get thier act together... being towed and sitting up at a dealership in the middle of NOWHERE. Only to find they can't fix the car and all these other complications. And God forbid there should be a bus or anything we can take to Little Rock, which is the only place we can rent a car. This EXTREMELY awesome sales manager ended up giving us a ride. I'm amazed at the kindness of people there... overrode my anger at the stupid girl we wrecked with. Mostly. Kind of. I guess. anyway... the guy at enterprise was nice too and pulled some strings to get us into a car we could afford. Needless to say the rest of the trip was basically spent trying to get home.. which we did not until tuesday. And now david is car-less for a while. But...we do get to go back.. for court! Oh joy. :P Despite the fact though, I did get some nice pics which I will share... and we got to ride the cedar springs trail on sunday again. Good times. At least nobody got hurt.. I saw a car on our ride to Little rock that was upside down, with 5 EMT's and firefighters pulling shit off.. trying to peel a person out. So yeah. Enjoy the pics. It's good to be home.
And then, here is just the pics.
...poor car ;_; messed it up not enough to total it and go home with a new car...but just enough to leave us stranded 600 miles from home. Nice. and the truck has... a silver scratch. We lose.
Pics from Ceder Springs National Park.. in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
yeah, we found a rusty old bike mangled in a tree. David thought it was funny cause it was a Huffy. Um. Yes.
Here's me... tired and hungry and pissed off cause I fell. *grin*
David posing for me in all his bike gear. Awe <3
There's the only pic I got to take of downtown hot springs... didn't really get to walk around or anything...we were supposed to do that while we were instead, at some car dealership :( I got to see a bit though.. and it was nice!
And that is all. For now.
