we participated in a few yoga sessions while doing the hippie thing in Goa. i'm thinking it would be something positive to keep up, though don't know the best way to do that on our own besides take more classes. suggestions?

Wooo Yoga! Definitely positive to keep up! I also can't wait to hear if you think that your Indian yoga classes were significantly different from your European ones ( ... )

That's definitely a big part of what I like about it too. Partly from the theoretical, "that's just awesome" sense. Partly because I'm not all that good at being aggressive. ...I don't think I got hit enough as a small child, what with being a girl and not having siblings.

I keep putting it off though, thinking that I should start with a martial art that will allow me to actually defend myself in a relatively short amount of time... then study Aikido in a few years when I'm already vaguely proficient in something else. The problem with this theory is that it's three years after I started thinking about it, and the only thing I'm proficient in is yoga. So it might be time to abandon the very solid and reasonable plan and just start studying stuff that I like.
