So having just (as in 3 days ago) realized that college application packets are due in a little less than 2 weeks, I've finally started on my senior questionnaire. -_

i don't think they care that much about your choice of words for the senior questionnaire since it seems to be for content, not for how they evaluate you.

what do you men accept highest subscores?

like for the SAT I, the scores are separated into CR, Writing, Math. So if you got a higher math score the first time but a higher CR the second time, they'll take the highest even though you didn't get those scores in the same sitting, but separately.
