It's a soggy Sunday...

...but I'm feeling fine, because I've finally had a chance to catch up on rest (despite being woken at 5 AM by tweets delivered to my phone), Othello is doing very well (despite the limitations of the Cone of Shame), and I'm making headway on back-to-school prep (because the beginning of semester cometh and that right soon). This feels like very ( Read more... )

Happy Peacock-versary! *smooches* And many returns, of course

Glad things are looking up overall -- and it's especially great that you had time to indulge in some cooking and baking; nothing quite like it.

I wish my blueberries did something with themselves... Nothing at all this year, and I didn't even sit down and try to figure out why. otoh it's been a pretty miserable summer on the whole; I should be on my second crop of raspberries by now, and the whole hedge is just sitting there, green and lazy.

Thank you very much, darling! ~smooches and hugs~ It's been a wonderful year, and I am grateful.

Cooking and baking are wonderfully therapeutic, aren't they? I just love them. It's a great combination of creativity, spontaneity, technique, and detail. It calms me down, and in the end, I have something tangible to show for my efforts. :D

Oh, poo. I'm sorry the berries didn't thrive this summer. I love fresh berries, and I've been very spoiled by having them nearly always available in the summer. I did hear that it was kind of a cold summer over there, so perhaps that's the culprit?

I'm so proud of you, in a I-had-nothing-to-do-with-it-but-am-proud-to-know-you kinda way!

And on a related note, you have an AWESOME jawline!~admires~

Thank you very much, dear Pythia! ~hugs you~ I feel quite proud of what I've accomplished in a year, and I feel even better that I'm still eager and inspired to do more.

And aw, thank you! ~blushes~ You're too kind. I am the only pointy-chinned person in a family of round faces and square jaws (apparently, I take after one of my great-grandmothers), so it was so upsetting to me when my face just... didn't look like my face. And it was thrilling when it did again. :D

Happy birthday, Project Peacock! A worthy project if ever I heard of one!

Thank you very much, Dicky! And I never could have made it without your support and encouragement. ~hugs you~

I would love for you to eat chez Bluey. You and your beautiful family are welcome anytime... or perhaps I should just go there and cook for you. ;-)
