When I write a story, what do readers immediately look for?This is probably slightly ridiculous, since I don't produce nearly the amount of fic that I used to, but I will admit that I am a bit curious

I look for beautifully written, thoughtful stories with the uncanny ability to make me look at things that I see every day in a completely new way.

insightful, exquisite characterization and the feeling that I'm seeing the world for the first time--the colors seem brighter, details stand out, it's like realizing I've been looking at the mundane through a cloudy window, and the mundane is beautiful

Oh, and well-written goes almost without saying, but I do SO appreciate someone who care about the language.
