This post is like a ray of sunshine. So happy for the happy, and I have been cheering for Detroie liek whoa. And eee for wonderful rain boots and apples and cupcakes (will there be pics?) and meaningful, wonderful memorials, delicious food,, darling friends, and YES YES YES on DH2. I think I liked it even better than PoA, which was also my prior favorite. It was such a relief to see the adults allowed to ACT, and the special effects (dragon!! protection spells!! Helm's Deep!!) were spectacular.

SO MUCH LOVE!!!

Thank you for the cheers! The Tigers need a bit more in the luck department, I fear (although never say never), but I have to admit that I'm busting my buttons about the Lions, who haven't been 5-0 since my parents were small children. It's unreal. People are so happy and proud.

I completely agree with your thoughts on DH2. (Big surprise!) I was struck by the acting quality right away, with Warwick Davis's Griphook, and the rest of the cast lived up to that. I agree about the special effects, too. In most of the previous films, I've often felt that they're poorly realized, or poorly integrated, or both, but here they fit smoothly into the story and even enhanced it. Very, very, very well done. The dragon sequence was spectacular. :D

~hugs and squishes you and loves you to infinity and beyond~

And as I write this, the Lions have won, and they are, improbably and wonderfully, still undefeated. I'm looking forward to that Thanksgiving Day game, I can tell you. I think it's going to be a corker. :D

1) I want pics of the Goth cupcakes

2) "I'm a little bit wicked" T-shirt? - I think I'm in love with your mom.

3) Rojitos! That sounds like pure genius. I'm going to try to make them.

4) I can see you in that zebra apron with silver studs. Mmm...

2) Yes! My mother is adorable. She surprises me in wonderful ways.

3) Yes, do make Rojitos! They're absolutely delicious--and, I agree, sheer genius.

4) Awww. &hearts Someday, perhaps! I can picture it, in my mind's eye.

You cheer me up, always.

Though I generally hate the Tigers (Indians fan here), I will root for them against the hated Yankees any day. So, yes. Go, Detroit.

Your mother is a dear.

I'll look forward to hearing further thoughts on the DH2 film. I had some objections to it, but on the whole, I liked it.

Aw, thank you, Kelly! That makes me very genuinely happy. :-)

Well, the Tigers downed the Yankees, but the Rangers seem to have the edge in luck so far. Fingers crossed for better when they come back to Detroit. (And I can respect your loyalty to Cleveland. Of course, I naturally hate the Indians, but that's a divisional rivalry sort of thing.)

My mother is indeed a dear, and I know that I'm lucky to have her.

~sends cupcakes~

As for DH2, I didn't think it was a perfect film, but I did prefer it to the novel by a wide margin. There were parts that bothered or irritated me, but on the whole, I was surprised to find myself swept up in the whole thing. But I'll expand on that in my other post.
