Sei was back to smoking semi-regularly. Ah, stress! How wonderful you were? He'd write Ethne tomorrow, maybe. He swung the journal absently by his side, humming to himself. He'd figured Arden was alive, and finding out he was - great! But finding out he'd pulled that shit on Nora? Not so good. Realising that Nora only had him now, who seemed to be ( Read more... )

Lise was running! Oh, to be moving again. It felt good. The boots she'd found were a size too small, the clothes a size too big, but none of it mattered once she was moving.

She slowed a little, turning to check if Shura was still behind her. She had told him before she took off, made sure to make plenty of noise wherever she went. Even though they had an understanding, it seemed, one less 'I will cut you into tiny pieces' Assassin made her feel better.

The Guild was back in sight now, along with a familiar head of blue hair. Perhaps she should stop, wait for Shura..

Shura was keeping up, definitely! The boy was fast, it was the only useful skill he really had. The running didn't bother him, really; he could understand her desire to get outside and do something, even if it was kind of annoying to have to follow her everywhere like this when he'd rather just be cooking and cleaning like he usually did.

And there was the guild, straight ahead. Great! That meant going back inside soon, right? He'd prefer that. ...Oh. He recognized that boy standing outside, though. That wasn't quite so good.

He set the cigarette in his lips and stared up at the sky. Hmm. Arden and Douwe? Blood? Like Marcine. Ah, a headache. He winced. That conversation he'd seen with Mike, ah, he almost wished he'd stayed long enough to have that cleaned out again, too. He shook his head, took the drag. The idea of siblings together had a "special" place in Sei's heart now, maybe.

But he would have to lay down with this headache. He was apt to turn around and move inside when - ah? Shura? Oh. He almost hailed him, that is, until he saw the baggy-clothed General right in front of him.

His first instinct was to drop the cigarette and crush it out, and so angry that he'd just done it he instantly lit another one, and decided he'd just about had it up to here with being angry at nothing.

"Shura, if you don't want to get decked again, I'd clear out -"

"Or you'll what, Sir Guardian?" Hands on her knees to catch her breath, Lise smiled again.

Shura stopped beside her, waiting a few minutes to catch his breath as well before responding to the threat.

"You can't touch her," he said, sounding rather more confident than he felt. His hands were on the handles of his katars at his hips. "Blanche's orders."

Sei slipped his eyes from Shura to Lise, and without hesitation pressed the back of his hand to Shura's shoulder an d moved to stand directly in front of the panting General. He looked down at her, and he decided to just look, because that's all he could do, right? Just look, and looking, something in him turned - she was just a normal woman, wasn't she? She was even kind of pretty, if it wasn't for the rough and tumble. She was enough of an ass to rub everything in his face, again and again, right?

Hmm. He could spit on her. He was sure she wasn't allowed to hit him back.

He realised he'd just let the cigarette burn in contemplation, and calmly placed it between his lips, considering.

"How are you today, Lise? The fresh-air treating you nice? Must smell nicer than Leon's bathroom, right?"
