Rick stalked down the hallway toward the commotion. At first he'd simply wanted to see what was going on, until he heard something about killing. Eyes narrowing, he sped up his pace and cloaked, keeping close to the hallway's wall to keep from bumping into anyone.
It was lucky he'd kept to the side, or he would've been plowed right over by Sei, who gimped right by him; or lost his eyebrows, thanks to the Magnum Break. The force of it knocked him right back into full view of Sepia, robbing him of the element of surprise.
Breaking one of the oldest unwritten rules of the Guild, Rick gripped one katar by the handle and faced the crazy lady.
"Something shiny!" Sei's cry was probably comedical in the context - he was so relieved just to SEE a Katar that he wasn't quite sure what else to say - so comedic it was, but so true, Rick was here, and bleeding, he latched onto his presence.
The fire had singed the back of his legs, and falling against the wall, he hissed. No, he wasn't going to stand behind Rick; though - the sentiment was definately there, the desire most definately there. Sei was not the sort of person to want to be protected though, but in this case - "You're not going to get your hands on me!" - in this case,
He didn't look back at Sei, though he could almost feel the boy's desperation. Rick didn't budge. If he could distract her well enough, he might get a good fight out of the deal. If not... well... he'd think of an alternative soon enough.
Hopefully.
"I already killed one lady just down the hall." The location was a lie, but that didn't matter. "Let's not make it two."
