It's been busy here in Japan - Our school's culture festival was a week or so ago and last Friday I started my visits to kindergarten and elementary school classes. The culture festival was fun, and somehow I was drafted into the PTA Chorus group so I went in front of all my students with most of the other teachers and sang in Japanese. I'll admit ( Read more... )

also, if online gaming is important to you at all, get Halo 3. Yeah, I know, Halo is a pretty mediocre FPS, but the point is that a freaking billion people play it, so matches are always fast and there's lots of players at every skill level so you generally play pretty even matches. it's just fun.

I'm sure I'll get around to it someday (though I never actually got the original Halo for my XBox so who knows), though I'm pretty full to the brim with FPSes at the moment.

Of course, with Left 4 Dead on the horizon I may never play anything but FPSes again. Man, it's like Someone heard all the times I said I didn't like FPSes and thought, "yeah, well, just try disliking these games, ass."

I have been thinking about it. These days I really don't know what movies everybody is seeing and caring about, but I'm sure I'll think of something!

omg Look at you!! You're so... SERIOUS BUSINESS! But yet strangely adorable as a dingus.

Anywayyyy. For 360, you've already got two of the best games (oh Orange Box, you're so awesome), and I recommend at least giving Mass Effect a try. Soul Calibur 4 is pretty fun! Especially the character creation mode. I could do that alllll daaaaay. Um, there's a bunch of random cool stuff to get from XBL. Triggerheart Exelica is kind of a fun, old school "Things are coming from the top of the screen -- YOU NEED TO SHOOT THEM!" game.

I got really good at doing that with English at my last job, but they don't put much emphasis on upside-down reading comprehension in NYU's East Asian Studies department. It's a serious problem.

lol. That's cute.

Fourth grade is a bit more of a challenge thanks to the sheer size of the class and there I encountered the first student to introduce himself to me as "Sasuke Uchiha." "Really?" "Yes." "Really." "No."

AHAHAH.

I'm not a Soul Calibur fan, but "Shoot the things coming from the top of the screen!" is my favorite.
