I hope the trailer is just misleading, and it's not some "laff riot" fish out of water story.

I liked Corpse Bride a lot. The plot was a little thin at times, but the characters, acting, animation, music and just the overall feel of the movie made up for it. :)

You know honestly I cannot say that I've gotten through Corpse Bride in its entirety. I owe that film a thorough viewing.

As to the Dark Shadows dread, I am fairly certain he's going for the "laff riot" fish out of water thang that you mentioned. I'm just really disappointed. I was hoping he was going to actually
do justice to the original series.

Since I'm afraid of the new one, I've currently opted to watch the old episodes again on Netflix.

I did see Dark Shadows last year, and was pleasantly surprised. The look of the film was definitely Burton-ish, and it wasn't a comedy (although there were some funny moments). I'd recommend it.
