My mom bought Sean kitchen stuff last Christmas. Why she chose kitchen stuff for a 13 year old boy when our tiny kitchen is already bursting at the seams I'm not sure, but there we were. The pizza making set had stayed safely tucked away--until last night.

Ashton: Uh, I dunno?
Me: When you rub things together, what happens?
Ashton: Oh! It makes friction!
Me: Right. And what happens when you have friction?

Writer's Block: Childish Pleasures
My green blankey. I carried it around from the time I started walking. When Mom managed to get me to lay it down, I slept with it until.. Gosh, after Sean was born. She was horrified that I took it with me to the hospital when he was born. It now resides in my closet, but I pull it out when I'm feeling especially needy.

While I was away...
In California, I was keeping a list in the notepad on my phone of events so I'd remember what things to cover. After my spill into the Pacific, my phone went BVVVVVT and the list was gone. I've decided I'll just get them down as I remember them.

kid differences
I enjoy watching my children. Noting how they're similar and different. Often they seem more different than similar. For me, the most baffling his the disparity in how outgoing my three boys are. Home again.
We're finally home. I loved spending time with my sister and Alex and Emmy. We took a slew of pictures. I knew we'd taken a massive number, but I didn't realize how massive until a moment ago when I began moving them from the camera to the computer. Over 1,400 pictures!

Writer's Block: Thinking Outside the (Recyclable) Box
Drying laundry on a line rather than in the dryer. This not only gives you fresher smelling laundry without the added chemicals of fabric softner, but it also prevents you from running the dryer and you run the air less during the summer because you're not heating the house, causing you to need to crank the air even more.

A succulent steak, a loaded baked potato, steamed broccoli, and peach cobbler with a jug of Southern sweet tea. Yum!
