Royal Purple Aknowledgements and Author's Notes

Because I'm long-winded, here are the notes for Royal Purple:

This started as a couple of different things. First, I wanted to get back into real storytelling, but with my first legacy attempt gone and the other two families boring me/driving me insane with so many TWINS, I wasn't feeling it for them. I have been reading stories by skellington7d, simcerly, and simgaroop which focussed on the premades, and it wasn't the first time I had read stories like those, either. I was also spending time with these wonderful people (and many others) in a live chatroom and couldn't help but be inspired by their creativity.

However, I knew I lacked commitment and didn't feel qualified enough to attempt something massive. So someone in the chat suggested a series of short stories that could stand alone, yet be interconnected, so I wouldn't be tempted to leave loose ends, but at the same time, it could be a long, drawn-out affair if it did hold my interest. simtarts started doing something similar with a TS3 story in early September.

I thought the maxis_taste dare #23 from August/September seemed like a super idea, and this story started out as a small backstory as to why Jason had an alien child. And then it exploded like my imagination tends to do. So the Alien thing didn't completely come out of nowhere - aledstrange contributed her to the story.

On that note, I didn't make her myself. She is actually Kewpie Mayonnaise by bondchick_nett, from the pixel_trade August 2011 Founder Collection.

And now, for the mega long list of aknowledgements
  • Beth, for being an awesome CC-making buddy, Skype buddy, and friend. Thanks for putting up with my whingeing about this story for the past few months, and goodness knows how many more months to come. I love you, Beth!
  • The seasoned story-tellers: simtopi, skellington7d, simcerly, and aledstrange who helped me with some writing and a lot of posing questions. :) Freezing the invisible sim in the door to keep it open? Never would've thought of that. And that's just one example.
  • The wonderful simgaroop, because her interpretation of the maxis aliens, the "Graslaxians" is my head canon. And she gave me permission to use that name and that idea in my story. And also, for this post. A storyteller's bible, those posts are.
  • On a similar note, goodbye_sun for this post.
  • genlisae, whose Pleasantries story made me realize that there isn't an unwritten rule stating you can't ever blend premades with original characters. While I only have the one OC at the moment, I won't be too terribly hesitant to add more in the future.
  • julessims for making me come to love the premade bin sims like Sharla Ottomas and the Newsons.
  • dicreasy and geminiasp for answering my casting call. Those sims will probably be making appearances in Chapter 2.
  • hooptytrib for encouraging me and making me laugh. :D
  • Everyone from the GSC and the RCAS rooms on Chatzy.
And to every simmer who is part of this community, the creators, the other writers, the readers and the teachers, from GOS, Boolprop.com, and any other sims fansite, thank you for making the sims 2 fandom my absolute favourite place to hang out on the internet. :)

royal purple, thank you, authour's note
