Reading in 2011
I read 27 books in 2011, the most I've read in one year since I started chronicling my reading on LJ. And even more surprising is that I liked all of them and loved many.

Just because I'm found myself thinking about this over the last couple of days, here are some stats on this year's reading list:
* There are only three re-reads on this list, which is pretty few for me, but I think it's a good thing that I've gotten to read so many new (or new-to-me) books this year.
* Only two books were non-fiction. Or maybe 2.5, since Holidays On Ice has essays of both fiction and non-fiction? It's typical for me not to read much non-fiction, but I'd like to do a little better with that next year. Specifically, I'd like to read more history.
* Eight of the books were YA fantasy. I think that might be surprisingly low for me? YA fantasy remains one of my favorite genres, but probably good that I branched out a little more than usual?
* Nine books (1/3) were mysteries. Though I devoured mysteries for many years, I've read much less of the genre in recent years, and it was fun to get back into it.
* Three of the books were for my book club. There was one I didn't read because I couldn't go to the meeting, and one very good but incredibly long book club choice that I'm still making my way through (a year later), so I guess that means we met five times this year. That's probably about average for us.
So, I'm very happy with my 2011 reading list. I hope I'll do as well in 2012. Thanks again to miyyu, txduck, december21st, hoperomantic, tracyj23, and everyone else who recommended books to me over the last year. Whether or not I've read them yet, I always appreciate your recommendations and look forward to reading them whenever I can :)
