lover, you should have come over

The Dresden Dolls gave all new meaning to the phrase "ROCK THE FUCK OUT!" tonight. They played at a small rec center in the middle of Echo Park. Imagine a huge crowd of hipsterish goth kids surrounded by taco carts and that might give you an idea. I planted myself about 6 feet from the stage, which was at most 10 feet away from Amanda and Brian. ( Read more... )

Was it every bit as awesome as I made you expect it to be? There are not words for how envious I am! You must tell absolutely all next time we talk!!! Oh where are the pictures?!!! I told you I'd be vicariously overjoyed!

Words cannot describe the awesomeness...I did tell Amanda that you said hello and that it was because of you that I made it to their show. She had a big smile on her face and told me that she loves German girls, or at the very least, girls living in Germany for the time being :)
The girls next to me were taking tons of pictures...I gave them my email address so hopefully they will send a few over. I took a few with my phone but they are small and fuzzy.

Le sigh. I had entertained the idea of going to their New Year's Eve show in SF, but alas I am too broke to budge.
At least I know when I CAN see them, I'm in for an awesome treat!

I was going to see them in SF too! They are playing at the same festival as the Yard Dogs Road Show, who are also great fun live. However, I am in the same "that's way too expensive" boat. I had enough money to either drive up there OR see the show.
Instead, I'm walking up the street with a bunch of friends to a great place that serves copious amounts of sangria on new years. Whee!

ps. I just made reservations for new years so now you have no excuse to not come and get sloshed on sangria....oh god, is that a double negative? Eegads!
