Happy Anniversary to ME!

Okay, technically we were married on Leap Day (February 29th) but on off years we celebrate it on the 28th. So "Happy Anniversary" to us! DH and I have been married for 11 years (if you count the non-leap years or 3.75 if you don't. DH doesn't. I do.)

Did you know that the 11th year anniversary gift is steel? How exciting. (NOT.) I think we are ( Read more... )

and i saw some fantastic mobiles in an art gallery on friday--they were made of steel and leaves and things, you could always do something with art-steel?

That is a good idea and one I hadn't thought of - as you can tell, we didn't put much thought into this year's anniversary - he even scheduled a meeting for tonight. And he said I could tag along and then he'd take me out afterwards - but not to dinner, to a local grocery store that is closing, so we can buy crap for our house at 50% off. *sigh* I think we've been married too long! LOL

oh, it's fine. don't beat yourself up over not thinking about steel options. seriously, i'd have been at a loss if i had to deal with that... the only reason i thought of the mobiles was because my engineer friend was with me and he said they were made of steel wires. (it was steel wiring with leaves and flowers all glued to it, to make it a giant tree-looking mobile.)

and yeah, that sounds kinda not-anniversary-like... i'd be sad if that happened. maybe take this weekend and do something nice. a bed and breakfast trip for the weekend? that would help you get away from everything, perhaps, and focus on each other. happy anniversary though!

has being married gotten easier or harder as the years go on, and how have you adapted to each other? just curious, as i am an outsider to the whole marriage thing. ;-)

Aww, happy anniversary! Don't feel bad about not doing anything "exciting." Sometimes the best thing to do is order pizza and sit on the sofa eating it together. Whatever makes you guys happy. And watches sound like a lovely gift. :) Then every time you look at them, you can think "Eleven years and two days. Eleven years and three months. Twelve years and five months," as the time passes by and you remember when and why you got them. ^.^

It's also awesome that you were married on the leap day. Hee.

We ended up not getting each other anything at all... but we did have a nice dinner and spent some time together after his meeting.
