Dollhouse

Just finished watching the second episode of "Dollhouse", Whedon's new series. I tried very hard not to compare it to Whedon's short-lived work of art "Firefly", but that's easier said than done given how "Dollhouse" falters through so many key elements that "Firefly" got right ( Read more... )

did whedon miss on this. I love him, and think he's trying to do something he hasn't done. perhaps this is why this is failing. You can't have one success after another, if you do you are not living up to your full potential.

Even if it didn't have Whedon's name attached to it, this show is still pretty boring so far. That it's boring AND Whedon just makes it twice as disappointing.

I'll still give it another couple of episodes to find itself, I just wish Echo would develop a personality beyond her vacant, childlike state. And I wish Lennix's character would surprise me somehow.

I agree. I was hoping for greatness, although when I heard the premise of the series before it started, I had my doubts already (Eliza Dushku was a great interview on Howard Stern, though).

But because Echo gets imprinted as something new each episode, there's no Echo to love. Yeah, there's hints of her remembering her past self, which hopefully leads to something interesting, but right now, I just don't care.
