Hello! I'm Michelle and I'm from Sydney, Australia. I just joined a few minutes ago and went to go take pictures of my growing collection of Asian stationary. I am ADDICTED to this stuff, for serious. I've been using Asian stationary from stores like Morning Glory and Artbox for years, and the amount of stuff that I've thrown out is... wow

I want that pencil case so badly! :( I wish I knew where to find one. I looked on smiggle and on ebay. : (

But your phone picture quality is amazing!

They sell them at Smiggle, but not in this shade of rainbow. I've seen a brighter rainbow one, and they have theme in shades of pink and blue and other colours, and I've also seen black/red ones! Do you live in Australia or have you been looking at the Smiggle website?

And the picture quality isn't that good, believe me! Resizing the photos and then sharpening helped.

I have that zippy pencil case as well! But the ink of one of my markers' went "splash!" and dirtied the pencil case. Can't get the ink off till today. Quite a pity!

And my liquid paper, a friend's copy of Pride And Prejudice (the novel) and some school books have a smudgey red ink splatter on them when I accidentally left my red ink pen in my pencil case without the lid on, and it bled all over half the thing --;

Oh dearrrrrrrrrr. It's quite saddening right. To comfort myself: At least yours is just a slight one, mine is like most of the zips got splashed! :(

That's what happened when it got splashed with red ink, half my pencil case had a reddish tinge to it!

Just throw it in the washing machine with some colour-safe bleach. It should come out squeaky-clean.
My blue ink splat didn't come out, though =(

And I know nothing about the Gold Coast, so I'm afraid I can't help you there ): Oh, do they have Borders there? I quite like the Paperchase stuff, and Borders stocks Paperchase.

If you ever come to Sydney again, go to the city (Central and Town Hall area) and look around, there are plenty of little Asian stalls if that's what you're looking for. Kinokuniya is GREAT for stationary (they have everything) although it's little expensive. And if you're looking for other types of stationary and pretty paper and notebooks, try Newtown.

I immediately thought of Smiggle when I saw that pencil case. I've been meaning to get one, because they're awesome. That sucks about the pens though. But then, I don't like the Stabilos either. I prefer my Staedtlers.

I'll have to check out all those cute stationery stores in Sydney next time I'm there. Sounds like I could spend heaps of money!

See, it gets me to me after 10 people ask me the same question; "Did you get your pencil case from Smiggle?" ...I mean, it's like they JUST noticed I had this pencil case, when I've had it since before our local Smiggle store opened.

But anyway! I don't know anything about Stabilos or Staedtlers when it comes to felt-tips. I was just reading around in this community and people have been saying that Staedtlers leak a lot?

Yeah, it's kind of sad that Smiggle have popularised something you've had for ages. I get that way with some things. But you should feel 'cool' that you had something first, haha. You're like an innovator. xD

My Staedtlers don't leak. I haven't had any trouble with them at all, except I think one went a bit funny at one stage. But granted, they're stored in a tin upright, and even though you can keep the tops off and they're not supposed to dry out, I keep the lids on. Maybe we're talking different pens? Or I've just been lucky, haha.

I basically like my Staedtlers better because I thought the tip was a lot nicer and the barrel was a better shape and fit to my hand. Plus the Stabilos are hard to find. I've only ever seen them in Officeworks, and they charge a mint for them.

Yeah, I haven't seen Stabilos or Staedtlers anywhere, actually, but then again... I haven't really been looking for them very hard, hehe. I have an Officeworks not too far from where I live, I shall check them out.

I think by leakage I meant how much they go through a piece of paper to the other side? Is it bad? Because I'd really like to use them on my school handbook (diary).

Where would you find Staedtlers, in any case?
