and it's broken.

i've been there a month and a half and i had to file workman's comp. somehow i'd better watch it from now on. they might decide i'm too expensive to keep.

Holy hells fires! was that box supposed to be put away? did you need medical attention? you going to have to wear those nose bandages?

what a mother... they like to chirp out those gems!

Oh man I hope you don't get the black eyes!

so far, no black eyes but i'm finding bruises everywhere; my hip, my thigh (that oddly looks like the edge and corner of the damn file box) and one on each arm. there's still a chance since i went to our workman's comp approved medexpress and found out it's broken. a nondisplaced nasal bridge fracture. and i got a tetanus shot. yippie.

the file room is too small for the amount of papers we generate in a paper "less" system. those are all last years discharge charts that are waiting to be moved. and the ironic thing? we move the file room tomorrow.

now for more ice and pain killers.

very lucky then so far! What was that box made of! To cause such a massive bruise! *cringes* tetanus shot....

That is a right Ironic thing!

Yes.. keep the swelling down and the pain at bay!

Does it still affect your speech?

dob i talb libe dis?

oh yeah. and the bad part is i can't help it. i'm taking sinus stuff too and that helps the speak a bit.

the box was one of those heavy duty cardboard file boxes. the kind that can hold both file folders and their hanging binders. i must have landed half over one and cut my other leg on the cart that was next to it. and sadly all the boxes and file cabinets are now moved to our new space. and everyone is paranoid with me when i trip. vicodin makes me dizzy so i'm more off balance.

and i hardly notice the tetanus shot because of the nose!

i was cleared to work, but i can't have my head down for long periods. and i was threatened with bodily harm if i hit my nose on anything else since the break could open. plus, banging my head so hard has made me forget stuff. i'll put down papers and have no idea where they went five minutes later.

i do get to sit at work high on vicodin though. only bad thing is it wears off after about three hours.

the bridge of my nose is broken, but not out of line, so i didn't have to have anyone try and snap it back into place.

he wasn't completely sure if i had a concussion since i waited a whole day to go to the medexpress, but said it might last a few more days. and no make-up on the face :( i have what is pretty much a rug burn right across my nose and i can only put neosporin on it. makes it nice and shiny.

plus my sinuses were all congested on top of it. sigh. i just have crappy luck when it comes to being a klutz!!

omg! I'm so sorry. I had something similar happen when I was around 16. Noses hurt worse than anything. You know...you might be able to get a nose job out of this if you want. Some nasal injuries require repairs that are similar to cosmetic surgery.

I hope you're feeling somewhat better, but the pain must have been awful. You're not such a horrible klutz though. This is embarrassing but when I hurt mine it was because I fell off a pony into a rail fence. Don't tell anyone. XD
