Is she all done?

Sad about the black and white kitty. :( But happy for the orange one! I hope mama and baby(-ies) are still doing well!

Awww. Am so sorry bout the black and white tiger baby. That just makes me feel so bad. And they're not even mine! But as well, am happy much on the loud arrival of the orange baby.

I so love kitties, and used to have many at one time. Till found out they aggravated my asthma. Ah well.

And it's not all that unconventional I guess for the mama to try and eat/drink when delivering. I had one that did the same thing. She was a new mama; her first litter - and rather nervous. But I kept her in a box with bedding away from everyone else, and she did really well with them, once she figured out they were hers of course, lol.

caity is still eating strong! and the little guy is such a butterball. we won't name him for at least three weeks till we know if he's going to survive or not, but mom and i are already fighting over names.

watch our "him" be a "her"

oh noes! I'm so sorry!! For the two of you!! The little black and white one didn't get the chance! Sweet little baby.

Adorable! The orange is making sure everyone knows he's there. (reminds me of the other one who took quite a while to learn about Using Indoor Voice)

Any others?

I chuckled over the Mama wanting to eat while still in labour.

no more babies. it's just little horacio. which i won't be able to name him.

he's doing well and his eyes should open up tomorrow, though he won't be able to see for another day or two.

and his ears aren't folded down. when he nurses they flap up and down!

It sounds like this is a first litter for her. If she has trouble letting/getting the baby nursing try putting a little milk replacer on her back. Mama will lick it and start washing the baby. Sometimes the stimulation lets their natural instincts take over more easily. It might help get the kitten going.

I had one mama give birth when she was only about 6 months old. I didn't know that could happen. She wasn't ready for motherhood and walked away from the babies. Coating them with milk replacer solved the problem. I know your prob is with the kitten but try the milk thing anyway. It couldn't hurt.

Late congrats on being a kittymama!

it's her second litter but the first was sort of combined since another cat sort of dropped hers off right with caity and left. and she was outside with that one. that might be why she's so comfortable just walking around and going into the other room to eat. but if he cries, she loses him! she can't remember where he is.

our little guy did have a bit of milk the first day, but since then he's been a little butterball! she went out yesterday to be xrayed to make sure no other babies were up there and it's the first time i have ever heard her growl! she crouched over the baby and hissed! i had to take him from her so the vet could get near her.

i feel so paranoid. i have the bottle and the milk replacement (caity's been getting that to help with her milk production) and all that stuff.

If caity is doing the rest of the mama cat stuff--washing baby and keeping him warm, then he should do just fine on milk and milk replacer as needed
