All the pep-talk you need is that you're already as strong as you need to be and already worthy of a great relationship! Unfortunately now you'll have to go through that weird "how long is long enough to wait" thing and *then* be open to new opportunities. Laaaaaame.
Kudos for not having bad blood though. I always would cut contact and call it a day. GTFO. =P And I'm sure he's fine. If he's not, it's not your problem and he needs to lean on his own social support, as you said.
