- Keepin-On leads to stagnation, and stagnation leads to the rut. It's amazing how stagnation has inertia, has it's own tiny swirling movement, it's own gravity. Seems completely paradoxal, but somehow, dammit, it's true. I've experienced that one enough times. Ya look back at yourself, and you just immediately feel like you're sick - sick of yourself, in some way or other. No fun. Not nearly enough booze & blow to ever make it truly okay.
- You've got some good & interesting points here. I'm in the beginning phases of looking to buy my own place for a whole swirling myriad of reasons. Seen alot of craziness both personally and w/ some friends lately that possibly could be of some use. Or if not use, at least tragic amusement. I believe some fine libations may be the proper catalyst for meaningful dialog.
- Weird Option: lease your house to somebody for 6 months to a year. That would open up all sorts of things - some good, some bad.
Market is a big factor in this decision. This is the one potential buyer that needs *this* house rather than one of the 150 suberbia units available in a 5 mi radius. Timeframe is a big factor too. I dont want to sell a house for 2 years, I want to meet with these guys 3 times over the next month and 'git er done
( ... )
Thanks for the idea of construction. I should have thought of that but it never crossed my mind.
I don't think I will be *too* influenced by the fact that they are a religious institution. Can protestant pastors shoot lightning the same as Orthodox ministers? I see this purchase as a business decision on their part. they have 5 acres already. They should be able to have a congregation of thousands in that space. They are after atmosphere and marketability (not wrong, just not necessary) so top / fair price it is.
If this goes through, we will be having the sale of all sales. This is another positive influence that transitioning will present: a chance to unload the trappings of unnecessary and excessive consumerism. Getting stuff to the right people who will make good use of it is a big priority. I'll probably end up on your spammer blacklist by the time this is over with :)
I hate to say this but I vote move to someplace that suits you better and lets you live a life that's more pleasing to you. Yeah, we did the "responsible" thing and bought as well, because we'd been told we should all our lives... the main reason we stay here instead of moving to a downtown condo is because it's cheap as dirt. Otherwise we would have headed for somewhere with less upkeep and more fun.
Well, your condo is a lot more "responsible" than where we are at. This place is not at all cheap as dirt, especially when taxes and upkeep are added in. Thanks for the encouragement!
