I think I know the feeling, I felt something similar when my country fell apart and sometimes still do. It's always pity to lose something that is in some way a part of you...
Btw doesn't Scotland have its own pound, a different one from the English one? I think I've heard something about different money in different parts of the UK.

Yes, I can understand that.

It's complicated about the money. Scotland has its own printed banknotes (as does Northern Ireland) but that's all they are. They are beautiful things, much more interesting than the English ones. Although they say 'Bank of Scotland', 'Royal Bank of Scotland' or 'Clydesdale Bank' on them, they are still backed and supported by the reserves of the Bank of England. So, if Scotland wasn't part of the UK anymore those notes wouldn't be Scottish money. Scotland, standing alone, doesn't have reserves to support a currency. I suppose it would be a bit like trying to buy something in Sweden with New Zealand dollars.
