I want to design a new female haircut. I know that "everything" has already been done. I have noticed that I really haven't seen anything awesome or inspiring out there for quite a while. I've heard that "geometric" is supposed to be in right now, which I love and prefer, but I keep seeing boring hair-dos ( Read more... )

I have always found it interesting that you cut hair on the side and think it's pretty cool mind you. Did I ask you before if you went to school ever? Just a hobby so to speak?

I don't have the patience for school. I dated a cosmetologist when I was in high school and learned a lot from her and read quite a bit and I have the aptitude for it, a good eye for structure (I scored 100% on the abstract/spatial perception portion of my A.S.V.A.B. test). Hair is pure beauty and I see it as a kind of sculpture that fluid dynamics apply to (not really true, but a reasonably good analogy none the less). It's nice to look at and to touch (usually). A good haircut can make a person look and feel good, and honestly if I am the one who created the look, it makes me feel good too. In 1985, my friends and I were all poor, and we would give each other haircuts (fix clothes , feed each other, etc.). After a while, I noticed that I was the only one giving haircuts, everyone was coming to me (My skills have come a long way since then). I kept going from there. I am bad about finishing things (school, books), but I would like to find an instructor to apprentice under and finally get licenced.

Wow, I do hope you do get the chance to apprentice. That is incredible I think. :) To have a talent like that. :)

Free haircuts for you, awesome! It's nice to have connections to someone with service skills (I guess discounts on items is good too).

I agree with you in that there has not been much out there that is all that inspiring, that's why my hair is in a long boring grow out stage. Waiting for something great to come along. Good luck! Yes! Keep designing.

The long and boring stage is great. When you find something that inspires you, you can pounce on it!

Due to the current interest that I have in alternative history post apocalyptic 1950's, I should create '50's punk! Wow, an alternative to steam punk. This is good, '50's hair with an alternative twist.
