"The way Spencer sees things, he’s lucky every time he gets into a car and it doesn’t crash. He should be thankful that every time he comes home there’s still a place to come home to. That when he turns the corner onto his street his house isn’t engulfed in flames, his family huddled in fire blankets across the road."
b-e-a-utiful. i loved that so, so much. all your work is so meticulously enriched with detail and practically screams originality i can't explain. <3
Oh, you have no idea how much I'm thankful to you for writing this. Every time I get into a car, when I close my eyes, I can just see the crash. I always think in terms of worst-case scenarios, and it's just exhausting sometimes.
It's so lovely to have good great writers still hanging around here... and this piece was absolutely beautiful, just as I'd anticipated it to be.
Also; about the original work community... I do have a community with a smartass name that I still haven't decided what I'm going to use it for. It's called fcuktypos, excuse me while I giggle at how dumb my cleverness is. But anywho, I'd love to run something with you maybe, even under a prettier name. Let me know what you think!
Whenever I'm in a plane, I always get a window seat so I can curl up against the wall. Then I look out at the patchwork world and think, "Huh. We could totally go down in flames right now. What would I do? How would that look?"
It's always very about the visual. I think it's because I feel the need to document everything, yeah? And it's a great feeling to see the 747 you're in plummet in your mind.
Enough fatalism. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This was only posted in we_are_cities at first. Then I moved it to the Panic!gen community, and then to slashatthedisco, because I realized not enough people read WAC (so, so sad). I'm such a shameless cross-poster.
&& I would be beyond honored to run an original comm with you. I quite like the name you already have, though; I giggled (still am). With that kind of name you can be pretty elitist, too. Not that I promote elitism. Not really. Just. You know what I'm getting at-- teenie-boppers who think they can write. It's painful, that's all I'm saying. Anyway. Yeah, definitely interested.

Yeah apparently it's really common I'm finding out through comments. That or everyone that reads bandslash is crazy. It could go either way, I think.
