Hooks, needles, and chopsticks.

Um... earlier I set a self-crocheting charm on a jumper I'm making for Mum for Christmas and got up to go see if Ron was up for a game of Exploding Snap... well, he was... but when I got back, my hook had crocheted Soblessa's hair into a big knot. Why are all my knitting supplies cursed?? I can't imagine anyone tampering with a crochet hook. Maybe I'm just a lousy witch, but I didn't think the spell was that strong...

It took us an hour, at the least, to untangle it properly. I've completely forgotten any charms to untie knots, and the only one Soblessa remembered was that charm Dad used to use on my trainers when I was a wee thing, so he wouldn't have to bend over and tie them for me, and, well, that wasn't really helpful, though my trainers are tied nice and pretty. While I unknotted and Soblessa owed, she had me tell her about Saturday, which I spent with Cho Chang. It is so funny that I spent time with her, I think! She is a couple years older than me, and very smart, and terribly nice to me. We walked around the lake a few times, just talking about classes and Quidditch and what books we liked to look at at the shop. We talked for a bit about our families, and she asked after Harry once. Then we sat under a tree and she taught me how to put up my hair with these small chopsticks, and even gave me a pair - pearly green, just like her pearly blue ones. She even said I look older with my hair up. Oh, she is so wonderful and nice, and makes me feel like I'm talking to a peer instead of someone two years older than me. My parents always treat me like I still need that shoelace-tying charm, and I know I am the youngest, I'm their baby, Mum says, and I am the only girl... but I'm growing up. I'm not little anymore. Short, maybe, skinny, maybe, flat-chested, um, yes. I know I still have some growing to do. But at least some people, like Cho, seem to realise that I'm not a kid. Maybe if I stop wearing my hair in plaits and start wearing it up, other people will notice.

I think I want to knit something for Cho. Because I like to knit. And she gave me these chopsticks... I should give her something.
