Long day.
Long day! I spent the afternoon writing and revising my History essay. History is not my favourite subject, as it really requires more memorising than analysing, and I am a bit too dreamy to really concentrate on committing dates and names to memory. However, you also have to do a lot of memorising in Charms, and I really enjoy that class - but that's fun, and it gets results; dead useful ones, at that. Not a day goes by where I don't use a charm I've learnt from either Mum or Professor Flitwick. I constantly use adhesive charms to hold my old books and other more delicate possessions together. Anyway, must add to the length of the essay, then I'll owl it off to Percy to have him make sure it is a coherent piece of work. I hope Professor Binns appreciates it!
Oh! Earlier this morning in Divination, I had a little chat with a girl in my dorm who has never really talked to me before. Naturally, we talked about the Ball, and I had to tell her that I wasn't sure about going or not, but I felt very happy afterwards to have finally spoken with her after five years of relative silence. We have absolutely nothing in common, but a few words and now I feel fine sharing a dorm room with her. Events like that can make one's whole life easier, don't you think? :)
I have come to a decision; I shan't worry my head off about the Bleu Ball. I won't worry if I don't get to go, and I won't fret over dress robes. I don't need to go. It's just a silly Ball. Just a lot of my peers dressed up and glittering and dancing and having a wonderful time and listening to good music and laughing. How silly... and... lovely.
I must go. The woodwork is expecting me to sink back into it.
