I'm so happy right now, I feel like I could cry.  :-D  Just like this man.

For anyone interested, Andrew Sullivan has some nice commentary on the California Supreme Court's decision.  As he points out, this cannot be claimed by the right-wing to be a case of so-called "judicial activism".  Laws to this effect have already been passed twice by our ( Read more... )

OH HELL YEAH. Were you at pride in 2004, the year that the marriages were legalized in San Francisco? I can't tell you how many times I got completely choked up that day. I think that might have been the most incredibly joyous celebration I've ever seen. It was amazing. You know, no matter how many stupid things in his personal life he might do, I think I will forever love Gavin Newsom for having the guts to what he did.

Err...could I possibly maybe crash a night with you? I'm not sure what Liz's goofy work schedule is like yet. :-D Liz and I are also talking about going to the baseball game on Saturday at the Coliseum - A's vs. Giants! Would you be interested?

BTW, I'm flying in Friday evening (Virgin America to SFO).

YAYAY! I need to pester Liz and see what crazy hours she is working that weekend and try to figure out what I'm doing. Right now my assumption is crashing with her on Saturday (assuming she can get it off and we are going to the baseball game) and invading your space on Friday. The last I heard, it sounds like Mary is pwned by LFL and is out of commission for the weekend.

I so so so want another tattoo, but I can't come up with an idea for one. I've been periodically searching for Josh on the internets, but I can't find much info and most importantly where he is working now. (He doesn't seem to be at Picture Machine anymore.) Do you have any idea where he is at? I don't think I want to go to anyone but him as he is awesome and I adore his work.

Most importantly, I must go shopping while there.

And hopefully it will actually last and the voters will say no to that stupid ballot initiative in November, which could render the whole thing null and void.

I know! Take that, Governator! He did veto the legislature twice, but he has said that he is not in support of that stupid initiative that will be on the ballot in November. Has the state come far enough since 2000 to vote it down? I hope so.

Aiieee!! Crossing my fingers. Is it unethical for an out-of-stater to give money to a campaign to defeat the ballot initiative? Certainly less so than denying people equal treatment under the law.

EXCELLENT news with really bad timing for those of us in Arizona. We've got ANOTHER version of a marriage amendment that just passed the state House and is in the Senate even as I type this, and even though here our law against same-sex marriage has withstood a court challenge, this ruling in California will be is already being used to argue that we need a constitutional amendment, too. MAN, I really want this sucker to not get on the ballot. I do not want another election fight. ::sigh::

But in the long run, it is most excellent news for everyone. I'm very excited.
