Google Alerts:

Ever since Charles gave me the heads up on Google Alerts I've been having
a blast trying to find fashion stuff as well as my own netimages.biz.

Yeah, I was wondering why the Google Alert {which is a search} didn't show up the same thing as a google search ?
{ie: the "falbala +montreal" search}

And do you know how the alerts work ? Like why does it show stuff one day and not the next? Like even older stuff shows up ? {as well as web pages that don't even exist anymore ?}

Google is constantly changing and constantly updating. The days of the "google dance" where it changes one a month are long gone. So, these alerts are from their very latest crawl. My best guess is that they're different because it goes through a bit of process before any changes or results appear on the final google page. You can see google changing through it's various servers with this tool.
So, in short, my hunch is that these alerts are the latest results from the very last crawl of the web, and that those results will be mixed in with google's previous results using some double-secret formula to come up with the final search results for google.

Eh eh, thanks for the links! :-)
I should add more tracker to my pages to see from where my visitors are coming from. (And you should do the same!)
