Entry #7- "On The Subway" Imagery

After reading “On The Subway” by Sharon Olds, I was brought into a world of racism and more importantly, the relationship between whites and blacks at the time.  The poem is about an intense connection between whites and blacks, and these different races are compared throughout the poem.  However, I was most intrigued by the imagery that the author ( Read more... )

In comparison to today, it seems like racism never even existed. In our society, multiple races live together or work together in communities.

I agree with the idea that the world intentional represents that the black people received harm from different parts of the world.

Until the terms "African-American" and "Caucasian" are completely out of our vocabularies, the world will always see racism. Until we don't see any difference at all.
