Family is such a large and important part of my life.  I believe that besides God, family is the one group of people that you should put all of your time and love into.  Without my family, I would be nothing.  However, as I think it is with any family, they can make you go crazy, angry, and happy all at the same time.  They can also love and drive

Sonny displays the idea that family is important, the short story can easily be applied to real life. Their family was apart, but then close at the same time. Memories from the past kept them close, which made their families relationship meaningful.

Indeed, I struggle to understand my siblings sometimes. They also struggle with me.

I like that fact that the story shows people that it is important to be gracious to family members who irritate, because those irritating siblings are people nonetheless. Every single person has feelings.

I wish I had a talent for music, or at least the time to practice reading music. I suppose I don't really want it bad enough to try harder.
