01.
Double Dagger:
I don't know where to put this just yet. But I want to get it for 3 reasons:
- Mathematical connotation
- Religious connotation
- Grammar/literary connotation
Maybe on the inside of my right wrist - in brown ink. IDK, I'm unsure of placement with this one, and open to suggestions.
02.The next tattoo hold absolutely no significance other than I think it's pretty, and I like stars. It's not even original, I want to steal it right from someone else:
03.
Imaginary Number: I've been obsessed with this mathematical concept since I was really young. And I thought it would be an awesome idea to get it done in ultraviolet ink. LOL. IDK if it's original or not, but here's an approximate rendering of what I'd like it to look like. (Warning: this is NOT my wrist. I stole it from
here)
04.AND, my big piece, that I've been planning for a while.
I've written an abstract mathematical formula (using common and uncommon Greek letters and symbols) for the concept of love and happiness that I believe in.
Basically, this means that 'if a regular love (with some variables) over a change (in regard to time) in combination with a variable that can have only one possible solution (my mathematical equivalent to soul mates) is true, then the limit of the a closed loop double integration (with the boundaries of zero to an undetermined conclusion) [this is my way of expressing two lifetimes] is a small positive to the infinite power (which is my way of saying happiness) is also true. But if the first is not true, that doesn't mean that the second also has to be false.'
So, again, but in simpler terms: Over time, being in love with your soul mate is equivalent to happiness, but even if you don't have the first part (a soul mate) that doesn't mean that you can't be happy. :)
I wrote it myself, based on concepts and abstracts that I've become familiar with. This, of course, mathematically means nothing. But I choose to think of this more like a code than an actual formula, as there is no such thing as a heart in math. (That is the only thing I chose to represent with a non-mathematical symbol.)
There are, however, more layers to this that just the formula. Allow me to elaborate:
- I wrote this myself, which means that it's original. And that makes me happy. :)
- It clearly illustrates my love for math
- It incorporates many mathematical concepts that I've always found fascinating, like fixed loop integration, delta, theta, limits, and infinity.
- Epsilon, with is the E symbol can also be used to refer to the fifth star in a constellation. That's a little nod to Roswell (the show) anyone who's a hardcore fan should get the reference. (Which I still kind of want to get tattooed on my chest in brown ink, to look like freckles.)
- Theta is mainly used in financial math, which is what I do for a living, and I love it. <3
Here is an approximate rendering of where I would like it to be placed:
LOL, that's so NOT my back. (I wish). But it was the best image I could find.
05? There are a few other things I'd still like to get. (Like I mentioned the Roswell thing, and there is also a periodic table idea I'm thinking of) other nerdy/science/math things like that. The double dagger eliminates the need for a cross, and the heart in the formula get's rid of that particular need. But still, there are a few other things I'd maybe like to get. (Like "Change takes time" but with math symbols...) Or a quote, like "between shadow and soul" from the poet Pablo Neruda. (these are just basic ideas at this point).
Anyway, those are my ideas. I would love to know what everyone else thinks. I live in the Miami area, and I'm looking for someone who could be willing to do the lettering, it's important that it be crisp lines and all that. I'm looking for someone with some experience in lettering, if that's at all possible. Constructive Criticism is also welcome here. Please, let me know what you think of the ideas, placement, ink choices, is this even at all possible? Just let me know. Thanks.
