Can anyone tell me how you do that thing where you post part of your message visible on the friends page and people can click on a link to see the whole thing? I've looked around but have found no obvious explanations or controls for doing this

The better way to go about it than the klunky type-crap-till-I'm-bored-in-the-face-face way is to simply download a client to do that stuff FOR you. Mutually, in the client you can type in your mood and use an icon from your present mood set to go with it.

E.G. : 'Mood: Secretive' 'Icon: Devious'
