This morning, I got a rude awakening as a part of my quest to install mo'bettah stuff on my computer. I was putting in a DVD +- RW / CDRW and I get an electric shock from the case. Now when I built my computer, I did a few dumb things, like neglecting the standoffs for the motherboard, which wrecked a few things that had to be jerry-rigged around

The outlet under the window, up-up stairs? Dude, I told you that outlet was messed up 3 years ago!

An outlet tester is something I should invest in as well... thanks for the reminder.

Glad you're OK. One of the joys of a large and older house is finding those 'surprises'.
