My New Year's Resolutions:
A) UPDATE LJ MORE
Lately, I've been noticing all the cool kids seem to use LJ still. In my ever intense quest to become cool, which will never happen, I have decided to update more often.
B) USE CORRECT GRAMMAR AND SPELLING IN LJ
So I also noticed that some very cool kids tend to correct my poor english. I have therefore decided to try to improve my grammar and spelling skills by attempting to use real english in my LJ entries.
C) LISTEN TO AND WRITE DIFFERENT KINDS OF MUSIC.
I have decided that I should try to listen to different artists and styles of music so that my songwriting improves. Everyone knows what it's like to buy a cd that your favorite song is on but then the cd is a letdown. A lot of the time I have found that this is because the entire CD sounds the same. I hope I do not offend anyone by making a reference here but Coldplay's latest CD, X&Y is a great example of this. Each song is amazing by itself, but you cannot possibly listen to the CD more than twice in a row. I'm going to try to avoid that problem with my own music.
D) READ MORE
Basically I'm blaming this one...actually most of these all on Charlotte. I think when you meet someone that you really like and understand you unconciously try to be like them. (applies to music too) The thing is, I think its a concious thing now, but I don't mind. She gave me a couple of books for Christmas and I'm already half done with one of them. I think the habit will be hard to break if I get into anymore books like the ones I'm reading.
E) MAKE MONEY TO BUY STUFF
Who doesn't want to do this huh? By stuff I of course mean musical equiptment. I'm looking at a keyboard amp. Cords are wicked expensive for good ones. Monster all the way, and no, I'm not brand loyal at alllllll. I have two mics and I'm looking at 2-3 more. I won't however stick with shure for those...just because I don't have the money to.
F) HELP IN THE FIGHT AGAINST POINTLESS MYSPACE BULLETINS
enough said.
G) MAKE THE SIBLINGS KEEP THE HOUSE CLEAN.
I actually would like to live in cleanliness this year. They better oblige.
H) HAVE LESS FREE TIME
Yep, I said it. I want to be busy not wasting time. I want to hang out with my friends more, work more, read more, clean more. What's wrong with me you ask? I guess I just think wasting time doing things that don't apply to anything, is pointless. This doesn't mean by any means that I will become a monk or anything. I'll still be on aim and myspace and I'll definitely be LJing it up as often as possible. But I dont want any of that, "I'm so bored I don't want to do anything" crap. Time is of the essence I say.
Finally, Ill talk to you all later.
