I've been feeling really disconnected lately. Not just from family and friends but life in general. Everything seems surreal. I wonder if this place is changing me. I came here all cheery and optimistic but lately i've gone cynical and pessimistic. Not really depressed, just not all that joyous. It bothers me around this time of year.

I think that while I'm no expert in the psychology of being halfway around the world from your home country, working your ass off in a foreign land, it's safe to say that what you're feeling isn't unusual. You've just gotta keep your head up and remember that you're doing something worthwhile; not to mention that you've got a lot of good friends at home who can't wait to see you.

Anyways, thanks a lot for the hat, I wear it with the pride of an Afghani freedom fighter! Take it easy man, and stay safe.
