Where I come from we call it the BlackAss(american for BlackArse). It's a killer, though.

Death-trance is old 80s hacker slang. It means being ensconced in front of the terminal, taking breaks only to eat fast food and go to the toilet, while continually doing whatever it is you're doing on the thing, until you eventually look so pale people think you're dying.

I guess the term went out of vogue. Funny too because it pre-dates the net as such. I've had this at least twice in my prehistory.
