Rory and Logan tried to steal a yaught and got caught. Lorelai had to get her from the cops. Rory goes back to Yale and decideds its not for her, so she informs Lorelai that she will not be attending Yale any longer. Lorelai gets super pissed and goes to Richard and Emily and asks them for help. The two promise to help her at the ususal Friday night dinner. Both agree that Rory leaving Yale is out of the question. Lorelai also drops the bomb on what scum Logan's family is and all the events that led Rory to steal the yaught. Later that day, Rory goes to Sr. Gilmore's residence and asks Richard for help. Richard doesn't know how to comfort her, and Rory just cries and huggs Richard as he tells her it will be all right. Then dinner time rolls around and Lorelai shows up early to discuss a game plan. Richard and Emily announce that Rory will not attend yale the following year and she will take a year off to do as she pleases. Also, that she will live in the pool house, as Lorelai said she would not be welcome to stay in her
