I know this chapter was a long time coming, hoping to pick the pace back up next year, but we. shall. see...
Town reaction - "The Townspeople are a little wary of Kuja, which is understandably, but I think everything went nevertheless! I can't to see what Kuja will do will his clothes, he is beautiful, so I''m sure he'll look great!"
I think the townspeople (for the most part) handled Kuja's first foray pretty well. They couldn't help but stare at him, but no one said anything unkind to him nor did they ignore him (which could've tipped him off in realizing that they did in fact know who he was).
Clyde - "...Why do I get the feeling that Clyde is going to make things SO much more difficult than they need to be in the long run?"
I can't blame Clyde (or anyone else who voted against Kuja being allowed to stay) for being very cautious, considering all the things Kuja has done. Clyde especially... his last (and only) experience with Kuja was the destruction of his city.
Altering clothing - "I can't to see what Kuja will do will his clothes, he is beautiful, so I'm sure he'll look great!"
The whole clothing/sewing thing not only gives him something to do, so he isn't sitting idly in the house, but I could also see it as a way for him to express his personality and preferences, which is something he hasn't gotten to do lately.
Feminine clothing - "And I agree; feminine works, but full dresses? Mmmm... maybe not so much, but really, it depends on the situation/dress, I suppose."
I've seen a wide range of ideas on what to dress Kuja in. Most people stick with the default outfit, even if it's a bit torn up, but I've seen everything from ball gowns to frilly women's lingerie. I don't doubt he'd willingly cross dress if he thought that would accomplish something, but when writing this I couldn't help but wonder: what would he wear, if clothing was merely clothing and the decision was left completely to him?
But just as I don't think he'd want to wear all types of women's clothing, I don't think he'd be opposed to all men's clothing either (I could imagine him in a fancy suit), but choices are more limited in a small town. Things like overalls and utility type clothing, I can't see him going for. I think he'd still be attracted to things that were a little more showy, which is why I had him pick up a basket of trim, but at the same time he's now much more self conscious about his appearance and isn't trying to catch anyone's eye (except perhaps Zidane's!)
Kuja's mental health - "I do wonder however whn Kuja will start to improve. All this moroseness can't be healthy."
It's not healthy at all. But Zidane hasn't yet understood just how much Kuja's suffering from depression. I can only tell you that you'll start to see a turn around soon...
