Does it feel good to be "processed," quite possibly by outsourced 3rd world 'Customer Service Repesentatives?' Or even better by an algorithm equipped with form letters?

I would point out that the point of credit card companies is essentially loan sharking... high interest, short term loans. It's their business to be insensitive bastards, so I can't say I'm surprised.
