Why can I read so much French but so little German? Isn't German supposed to be more closely related to English? Why should I be working in French and German in the first place? Isn't this a Japanese dictionary?

My parents are moving to Tokyo in March. It means I've got to pack during the break. I've been going through boxes and boxes of junk from middle school, making the final cut between the things that get tossed and the ones that stay in my either my basement or my parents' for the rest of my life.
