Well

It occurred to me that my newer readers might not know what the heck I'm talking about when I say "well," "sunwheel," or "meditation walk" in reference to my garden. The sunwheel is oriented on a N-S/E-W axis, naturally, and the water in the middle...Well. There you are. Now you know where the clam shells go.

Thanks - I should take another photo now; it's "settled in" and looks like it's always been there...

And are those also some of the flagstones that had once been your roof?

No - the well happened before the roof did :) Those are bluestone flag/slates. They are local, but not from the roof.

The roof slates remain piled; they're thin and crack easily, so they need to be set in with sand/cement, maybe, to preserve them. I'm waiting until springtime, because they might go into a patio border, or a Freyja Ve area...

that's beautiful.

Seamus and I are trying to design a multi-purpose such thing for our back yard to accommodate the various and sundry that we need to. So far, we have the fire bowl :) (Fire sign... has to be fire in the middle :) )

So i'ma steal this idea. :)

We have one of those outdoor fire place thingers at the other end of the yard - so it's water/well/sunwheel at the northwest corner, by the house, then Frey's mound, then the wight ve (middle-ish), then the picnic table, then the fire area in the northeast corner. We need to determine what we're doing next, but come spring there "might" end up being a Freyja ve in that corner, as well...

Vanic house much? Nah....

...it just occured to me that it's water, earth, fire along the garden. Yeah. Hm. Heathen, much?
