Dean never knew that he could hurt like this.
Never knew that the sight if his best friend in the most ridiculous strawberry pajamas would be the one thing to stop him from completely breaking down.
Dean had to remember to thank him later. Seamus had taken to hiding behind a tapestry, believing that he was fully obscured from Ginny's vision. When Dean had smiled, it was then Ginny stood. She'd scowled at him and told him just how immature she really thought he was.
All he could do was smile more. One thing he didn't want was for her to know that those words had hurt him to the core. He tried to be all he could be for her and this was his reward.
"When you decide to grow up," she stopped mid-sentence, turning towards the direction of Seamus and speaking louder. "And stop letting the other make decisions for you, come find me."
It wasn't until she'd stormed out of the common room, did Seamus appear in front of Dean. Face almost as red as the strawberries on his clothing.
She'd hurt him just as much and Dean hated her for it.
"I think you're magnificent, Dean."
It was then Dean had finally broken down. Seamus had gathered the taller boy in his arms, assuring him that he'd help him through. That alone made Dean feel pathetic and he did all he could to push Seamus away, but he wouldn't budge.
Only tightened his hold.
After all the tears were shed, Dean finally realized something about himself.
He wasn't crying because of his failed relationship with Ginny - he was crying for himself.
In just one night, horribly designed strawberry pajamas had caused him to fall for his best mate. This eye-opener was definitely going to hurt.
