1. Awesome with a Side of Awesomesauce.

2. Toccoa men 4EVA! LOL. I think Babe is the only replacement I can recognize. Well, besides LOLJamesMacAvoy, but he's not around for very long.

3. Stephen Crane

4. The scene where Nix gets shot is waaaaaaaay more amazing in the series than it is in the book. That's really all I remember.

3. Yeah, but Crane wasn't a war reporter. He was a novelist, and yeah, he reported on wars, but they were LITTLE wars. I mean, not that Webster didn't want to be him, but...oh, never mind. *g*

4. It IS more amazing in the book. God, the whole description that goes along with it in Alexander's biography is one of my favorite Dick Winters Is a Woobie Badass moments.

4. I haven't read the biography, just the Ambrose book, so that's the less amazing one.

/o\ Really, didn't you know that there was a reading list for this fandom?

Speaking of which, we should totally have a bookclub. Maybe not here, but on C_Z? People might go for that. I'll have to run it past Caers and Set, see what they think.

1. Bull is 100% AWESOME.
2. Replacements try too hard to fit in, except for Babe, cause he and Bill become BFFs and all that.
4. Reading the written texts adds a lot of information that the series leaves out, and I find it to be very helpful.

Also, is the chat log for the first chat going to be posted?

1. How awesome is Bull Randleman: Just Plain Awesome, Awesome with a Side of Awesomesauce, or the Most Awesome Ever? Awesome with a Side of Awesomesauce! ♥

2. We see some of the most important relationships in the series begin to play out in this episode. Any thoughts on Replacements vs. Toccoa men?

Eeep, Babe's probably the only replacement I recognize throughout the series, probably 'cause he's around Guarno and BFFs with everyone. ♥ /ROBINLAINGLOOOOVE The only thing I remember about the other guys is James McAvoy crazy eyebrow-raised thing. :D It's so dorky, you gotta admit WTH. XDDD

1. How awesome is Bull Randleman: I'd have to say Awesome with a Side of Awesomesauce, because Babe has my little replacement love in this; he's all new with his little comb-over and I wants to hug him!

2. TOCCOA MEN! <3 They have such fond bonds with each other, it makes me happy. Even if I feel bad for Miller when Cobb is picking on him xD It's like a school yard with the new kids!

1. Bull Randleman is Awesome with a Side of Awesomesauce. He can share some folksey wisdom with me any day.

2. I love the way that Babe & Bill bond over geographical location. It's very male of them.
Also, since watching the episodes following Replacements I've tried to pick out as many of them as I can. It's interesting to watch the change and evolve till they become all battle-hardened and whatnot. The replacements seem to have to prove themselves before they can be accepted in the group. Except with Babe. Because from the start the Toccoa Men know he is awesome.

3. Oscar Wilde

Sidenote: Everyone hates Cobb.

Also, can anyone with more knowledge than me tell me why Spike Martin asked Babe for a can opener? I'm assuming it's some military lingo/joke that I missed. I'm pretty sure Spike Martin didn't just want to break out the Heinz baked beans for a quick snack.

He's making a (not particularly brilliant) joke about needing it to open up the tank he's about to hop up on, I think.

Ah Johnny martin. He may tell crap jokes, but his dimples, smile and death-glare-of-doom make me love him enough to look over that fact.
