If I approach someone else "actively" that usually indicates I want to befriend them.
Why can't people get it? It's frustrating.

It's one of those cultural things, ya know? Especially between generations and all that. We're more casual about things now than our parents were in theirs. I mean there are some older people who ARE open, but some don't. You know?

I also agree that sometimes a "romantic" feeling can hinder communication, especially if you end up wearing "rose-colored glasses" when it comes to that person. Sometimes, I might be attracted to a person, but then I just have this thing to find out how they are as a person, what flaws and strengths and then after that a crush usually fades within two weeks and after that, if it doesn't, I have a problem. (But this situation has NOT come up (the whole lasting more than 2 weeks) because my guy has everything I want out of a relationship, so unless some SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME guy comes and tops that out of the water, I highly doubt it.)
