Another year of music has been added to my collection. Truth be told 2008 was not a great year for yours truly. I say that on the stand point of new released music, and also personal attainment. But like every other AFI song, it's a certain Mr. Havok that takes the cake.
That is probably the best and truest sentence you have ever written in your life. Your words about AFI were so beautiful, they almost brought a tear to my eye. I'm glad you've gotten into more of their stuff!

Also, you forgot to mention the best part about seeing Minus the Bear, which was obviously that you got to hang with me. Also, right after that show, every hipster Emerson kid became a fan of Annuals. Laaaaaaaaame.

I can relate -- I felt that way about LPs when the CDs appeared. And I boycotted and put off buying a CD player until almost the 11th hour, when there were practically no LPs anymore. In retrospect, it seems silly now, but to me, LPs represented all the beloved music of my childhood (British invasion, folk, metal, etc.). But you'll see -- you'll love the convenience of the iPod, if you don't already, and especially when you travel, you'll love the fact that you don't have to schlep 100 CDs along with you. Don't dispair tho -- although you have to put up with the dynamic compression of digital music, you could still listen to the CDs in the house, and there's less danger of them getting scratched when you're not toting them around.
