Yesterday was the end of a very stressful and long week for me. As I told one of my friends, I leave with headlights and return with headlights...no more of that for the rest of the year! whoo hoo! Saturday night I went to see Don Giovanni by Mozart at Bass Concert Hall. I was put on by the Austin Lyric Opera and they did a wonderful job. The only downside to it was we were on row X, all the way in the nose bleed section, and the guy I was sitting next to smelled like alcohol and cigarettes. Today I received my acceptance letter to go to graduate school at Texas State. My next step is to go talk to the graduate adviser in the music department...bad thing is I will have to take off half of a day to travel up to San Marcos. Maybe I will make it a Friday ;)

Today was UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. My band did very well as did the 8th grade. We received a 1 1 1 on stage and a 2 2 1 in sightreading. For those of you who don't know, a 1 is the best and 5 is the worst. It doesn't get much better than this for a first year teacher. UIL is coming up soon and last week was the most stressful I have had in a while. I spent all last week getting ready for Friday which was a competition at Blinn College (and we were late for because the buses decided to show up 25 minutes late...but that is another story all together).
