JOhn on Sunday was absolutly AMAZING.
I REALLY wasn't looking forward to going at all - i didn't like the new album, I didn't like his guest star, and if I'm honest, I just couldn't be bothered!
Unfortunately we chose Bristol on Sunday cause both thought we could get Monday off, but then we both changed jobs and couldn't, but never mind! So after a small amount of driving in circles around Bristol we eventually parked and found the Hippodrome. We sat in our beautiful FOURTH ROW seats :D The view was amazing, we were on the right hand side of the stage. Then his parents casued choas by just walking in and sitting in the middle of the audience!
I can't remember the set list in order, but he sang:
Copa Cabana - amazing dance routine from the J4s
The Doctor and I - obviously - I didn't think he was going to sing it, but he did :D And told us Jack was coming back soon :D:D He changed the lyrics a bit too, so they made more sense. And he had clips from DW playing in the background <3
Man I Feel Like A Woman - Talking about La Cage he decided it would take far too long to go and get changed into drag [Boo], so he sang this instead and James and Jamie came out wearing dresses and did the funniest dance ever! And then John ripped them off at the end :D
I AM What I Am - last song in a sparkly suit. On the line 'so come take a look' someone shouted out 'YES PLEASE' and John just started giggling for ages.
He giggled though quite a lot of it actually! Bless him, haha
Don't Cry Out Loud - Beautiful
Memory
Remember When - A tribute to his mum and dad, and they came and danced to it <3
Viva Las Vegas - Talking about his children in need trip with Myleene
Let Your Love Flow - dedicated to Scott, aww
Fireflies
Rule THe World - both of those were suprisingly good actually!
A mix of two songs from Tonight's the Night, but I can't remember what they were
Don't Rain on My Parade - <333
And then Jodie Prenger came on and did two sets. Urgh. Thankfully only 2 songs in each, and then the song from Enchanted with John. Urgh. I just CANNOT stand her. Her voice just goes right through me. I took the opportunity to text people about how wonderful the show was!
John told lots of stories, and giggled all the way through them! I don't think there were any new ones, just ones from his books.
He told the one about when he had a 'small accident' on stage wearing polyester trousers and then had to do high kicks.
And the one about when he went skiing <33 I love that one, haha. It made me laugh alot just reading it, but when he told it, with his sound effects and actions and facial expessions I was actually hysterical. I couldn't breathe!
He broke the mannequin taking it off stage, it looked like an accident, but I expect he did it all of them. The face he pulled when it fell apart was hilarious though! And he got to carry it by the crotch again! No caot this time though - just some of the dresses from La Cage.
His parents were hilarious as well. They took the mike off him after Remember When and his dad asked if we liked his Bond suit, and said something about being James Bond, and then his mum grabbed the mike and went 'And I'm Pussy Galore.' Haha, we were all rolling from that and from John's face.
I know all his stories are rehearsed and exactly the same each time, but he tells them so well, and his facial expressions are so funny it doesn't really matter!
I'm sure there's a lot more, but I can't remeber any more!
One thing that has come of this though - I actually really like most of the songs on Johns new album now! Funny how that happens!
