Bushcarpentry is something we heard about a lot when we were away, and is a particularly Antipodean thing. Essentially it is the art of using what materials and knowledge you have available and banging something together something that suits your needs

That is pretty impressive! Making a design copied out of a book is one thing, but designing it yourself from scratch is definitely on another level. Props to you, and I'm glad H seems to like it so much.
