Good for you. I hate it that I've ended up feeling trapped by facebook. I have conservative (religiously, not politically) FB friends who don't like some of my language, co-workers who think I'm the same good religious girl I have to pretend to be at work because my job requires it, not to mention patients who can find my profile through my office's FB page. All my posts are friends only of course, but still I have this sense that I can't really be myself. Which is why I still love LJ so much, even though nobody reads it anymore. But here I feel much more free to be myself (as long as I friends lock everything, since my aunt discovered how to turn on her computer and LJ a week later). Hard, though, since, well, you know how I used to be. Wild art school college student who didn't give a shit what anyone thought. Now I feel I'm forced to give a shit. It pisses me off.

I don't think you were that wild. Fun-loving, perhaps? Poor, definitely!
G+ does have nice privacy options and you can do nice posts on it but LJ is my go-to for personal thoughts.
